The Center for Human Development is providing Medicaid administrative and training activities in support of the ongoing implementation and management of the State of Alaska’s Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) / Residential Psychiatric Treatment Center (RPTC) Medicaid Waiver Demonstration Project Training Program, “Modeling, Mentoring, and Monitoring.”
Positive Behavioral Supports Initiative (PBS) Initiative
This project will coordinate interagency collaboration leading to development of coordinated systems of community-based and school wide positive behavioral support programs and services. Activities will include developing core curriculum for PBS facilitators, and creating and managing the PBS certification process enabling community providers to bill person centered planning as a Medicaid-paid service.
Voices & Choices Person-Centered Planning Project
This project will build capacity in the state for person centered planning by training and certifying facilitators to use the Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope (PATH) and Making Action Plans (MAPS) person centered planning processes for Alaskan youth with co-occurring disorders who are transitioning from institutional and/or therapeutic settings to community living.
The Long-Term Care Apprenticeship Program
The purpose of the LTCAP is to implement industry-driven training solutions that address the long-term care sector’s critical workforce challenges by building and maintaining partnerships between the workforce investment system, long-term care employers, education and training providers, and other public and private sector partners. Training is guided by the long-term care providers and includes a set of industry approved competencies that guide instruction and incorporates on-the-job learning opportunities.
The Trust Training Cooperative coordinates and provides training, education and career development opportunities for the current and future workforce engaged with Alaska Mental Health Trust Beneficiaries including: People with Mental Illness, Developmental Disabilities, Chronic Alcoholism, Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, and Traumatic Head Injury Resulting in Permanent Brain Injury.
